Interested in becoming a ski patroller?

Before you decide that this is for you have a good read of this website. We have tried to show the world what we do every day, on and off the hill.

When you are convinced you want to give it a shot – and it’s not for everyone – then follow the next steps. Both skiers and snowboarders are welcome to join the patrol.

The next intake is August 26th & 27th 2023.

The minimum age for a ski patroller is 18. You cannot take the intake test until this time. You can however do your first aid qualification prior, so you are ready to go!

  1. Get your Provide First Aid (HLTAID011). Find details & a provider via https://training.gov.au.) Note: First Aid certification must be valid for at least 18 months, and if older than 12 months a further CPR recertification valid for 12 months is required.
  2. Apply for and receive your Volunteer Working with Children check number.
  3. Ensure you have had a minimum of three Covid-19 vaccinations (two plus at least one booster). We are members of the VRA (Volunteer Rescue Association) and this is their requirement.
  4. Read the information on the Intake Test.
  5. There is a two-step process to register for the Intake Assessment:
    1. Complete the Intake Questionnaire.
    2. Register as a temporary member and pay the fee.
  6. See Intake Test page for the next Trainee intake weekend, and make sure you are available.
  7. Go practice your skiing, boarding and snowriding!
