Patrol honours memory of the Thredbo landslide

Monday 30th July 2007 marked the 10th anniversary of the Thredbo landslide disaster in 1997, which claimed the lives of 18 people, including the then Thredbo Ski Patrol Director, Tony Weaver.

This year the Thredbo community remembered the lives lost with spectacular flare run and fireworks display. The full professional Patrol and many volunteer Patrollers were proud to support and participate in this very special occasion.

Over 1200 skiers participated in the event, which was coordinated by the Ski School. Patrollers were stationed along the flare run course, as well as interspersed amongst the skiing groups.
